Etiquette (Basic Rules)

a.Respect yourselves and each other.

Our goal is to build people up, not tear them down. This is a team, and each person can easily contribute in different ways. Do not disrespect members of this team from different walks of life. Our purpose is to connect people with each other, and get like-minded people (metal community) supporting each other through going to concerts, patroning local businesses, and proving that “metal heads” are just as respectable as anyone else.

b.No Drama.

As a Metal Maiden, you are representing an organization that participates in the community. Regardless of what the public says about you, it is your responsibility to conduct yourself in a composed manner. You must be aware that you now have a secondary audience that completely bleeds into your personal life because our friends overlap our fans. First and foremost, you are supposed to be promoting local bands and Resident Rock Star Magazine, not yourself.  The Metal Maidens ultimate goal is to become a non-profit, and it takes a lot of work. The impression that we make on the community will make or break this. This team cannot and will not tolerate public shit talking. This includes all social media. You do not know who is reading or listening, and you could potentially cost RRS Magazine customers, advertisers or sponsors.

c.Hands Off:

Do not think that just because all us ladies are great friends that it means
you can also buddy up with everyone’s significant others. Friending them on social media because you know their woman is somewhat tactless unless you truly do know the couple. It should be obvious that you also do not hang on, flirt with or try ANYTHING with anyone else’s significant others. Do not try to feed them food, sit close to them on a couch, personal message them, etc. This will lead to immediate termination of your membership with the Metal Maidens.

*The 24-HOUR Rule:

If you are pissed and riled up, you feel like you got something to say, or have a problem with someone, SIT ON IT for 24-hours! Were you drunk? Were they drunk? In the grand scheme of things, one has to be able to shrug certain things off. Do not be hypocritical and judgmental; sometimes people do not understand what you are about. Learn how to respond rather than react to someone who is getting under your skin. Sometimes showing them respect first and killing them with kindness is the right way to get them on your side. And not everyone is going to like you, no matter what! The way you treat others says a lot about you. It might also be a good idea to get in touch with Amy before you go ape shit on someone if they are starting drama with you. Chances are it can easily be sorted out with an adult conversation.
