In a mesmerizing blend of frosty wonder and spectral encounters, the intrepid members of the Metal Maidens embarked on an unforgettable journey to the Ice Castles in Cripple Creek, Colorado. This exceptional field trip, held on January 31st at the stroke of 4pm, was not just an ordinary outing – it was an adventure steeped in mystery, beauty, and a touch of the paranormal, all sponsored by our generous friends at the hauntingly famous Black Monarch Hotel.

A Night at the Haunted Black Monarch Hotel

Before setting out to explore the icy architectural marvels, the Metal Maidens enjoyed an overnight stay at the Black Monarch Hotel in Victor, Colorado. The hotel, known for its rich history and ghostly inhabitants, provided the perfect backdrop for our team's courageous spirit. During the stay, the Metal Maidens, including Danie Hahn, Lola Stone, Eden Heart, Paige Prada, and our newest prospect, Bre, all dove into the mystical, engaging in numerous paranormal experiences that could make even the bravest hearts skip a beat.

The night took an intriguing turn following our scheduled photo shoots, which captured both fire's intensity and the sultriness of boudoir. Fueled by curiosity and perhaps a hint of daring, several members partook in a communication session with the hotel's resident spirits through a Ouija board, setting the tone for what was to become a journey of both icy exploration and ghostly communion.

Journeying to the Ice Castles

The field trip to the Ice Castles turned ideas into stunning reality, thanks to the visionary minds of Danie Hahn and our talented photographer Amy Asche, with indispensable support from the Black Monarch Hotel. The hotel provided not just the cozy, eerie lodging but also discounted tickets, ensuring that the Metal Maidens' expedition was nothing short of spectacular.

Arriving at the Ice Castles, the team was greeted by a breathtaking fantasy world crafted from ice. Towering sculptures, winding ice tunnels, and shimmering frozen thrones offered an extraordinary backdrop for our fearless models. Each Maiden, donned in their metallic and ethereal best, became part of this mystical ice kingdom, bringing warmth and life to the chilly surroundings with their fiery poses and daring spirits.

Danie Hahn and Lola Stone, the second and third place winners of the Metal Maidens Calendar Contest 2024, both attended the event and past winner Paige Prada shone especially bright amidst the icy structures, her impressive accolades adding a glimmering touch to the frosty tableau. Danie Hahn, Lola Stone, Eden Heart, Paige Prada, and Bre, each brought their unique charisma, further enriching the visual feast with their presence.

Capturing the Magic

As the daylight waned and the ice castles glowed with ethereal lights, the Metal Maidens captured magic at every turn. Each photograph taken by Amy Asche is a testament to the team's adventurous spirit and unparalleled creativity. These images are not just snapshots of a field trip; they are a record of an unforgettable expedition where beauty, fear, and camaraderie intertwined.
